Grace Falzone

Mrs. Grace Giarraputo Falzone, 98, of Statesville, NC passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a short illness. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on Jan. 15, 1913 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Nina Montelione Giarraputo. She attended New York Schools and on Sept. 2, 1930 was married to Joseph Falzone who preceded her in death. Mrs. Falzone was of the Catholic faith, was a homemaker and loved keeping her family together for special events. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Frank Falzone and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children; Felice F. Wilson (John A.) of FL, Nina Falzone-D'Andrade (Robert) of Statesville, Joseph A. Falzone (Michelle) of Statesville, and Louis Falzone (Karen) of Hudson, FL. Nine grandchildren, including Tony Falzone (Patricia) of NY, John A. Wilson, Jr. (Sandra), Kathleen Grace Wilson, Brittany Falzone D'Andrade, Danielle Falzone, Courtney Falzone, Hannah Falzone, Joseph Falzone and Melissa Falzone Cole (Ron). Three great grandchildren also survive, Nicole Falzone, Alyssa Falzone and Joey Falzone. A service to celebrate the life of Grace Falzone will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel, Joseph A. Falzone will officiate and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Mrs. Falzone will lie in state on Tuesday and Wednesday morning at Nicholson Funeral Home.
