Godfrey "Bud" Fox

Godfrey Clint "Bud" Fox, 76, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at his residence following a lengthy illness. Mr. Fox was born November 29, 1934 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Wesley Clint Fox and Octavia Cartner Fox. Mr. Fox was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and he was married to Brenda Shoemaker Fox, who survives. He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee and was also an Administrative Board member. He was retired from Perdue Farms after 33 years of service having worked as a Housing Specialist. Bud was an outdoorsman, loved deer hunting, fishing, camping, and horseback riding. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. In addition to his wife, Brenda S. Fox, of the home, Mr. Fox is also survived by four daughters, Peggy Jane Fox of Stuart, FL, Lesia Fox Stegall (Douglas) of Terrell, N.C., Kim Lynnette Fox of Mooresville, and Krista Weatherman (Chris) of Statesville. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Casey Stegall, Amy Stegall, Kallie Weatherman, and Chance Weatherman along with three brothers, Charles Fox, Robert Fox, and Michael Fox, and three sisters, Merita Lanier, Duree Renegar and Becky Parks. A private burial will be conducted prior to the service which will be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am Friday, April 29, 2011, at Chapel Hill UMC with Rev. Mandy Jones and Rev. Ralph Lepley officiating. The family will visit with friends following the memorial service in the church fellowship hall.
