Gloria Gay Byers

Mrs. Gloria Gay Feimster Byers, 57, of Statesville died, Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Gordon Hospice House. She had been in declining health for a number of years and rapidly declined over the past few days. She was born in Iredell County on December 3, 1958 to the late James "Sammy" Feimster and Gay Brotherton Stevenson. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John E. and Cleo Brotherton, Clyde and Sallie Feimster, and John and Pauline Stevenson. On August 29, 1981 she married Danny Byers, who survives. Gloria was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She was a graduate of North Iredell High School and Mitchell Community College. Gloria loved traveling, shopping, giving to others, and especially spoiling children. Gloria is survived by her husband, Danny, and her parents, John and Gay Stevenson. Over 42 years ago John stepped into her life and took his role as Daddy as wholeheartedly and lovingly as anyone ever could. She is also survived by a sister, Teresa Pearson (Andrew), her dog, Colt, and special traveling companions, Larry and Pat Cope. She is also survived by a large, loving family including numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.at New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Byrd and Rev. Joey Campbell officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, March 29, 2016, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
