Glenda Lee Pope Waugh, 72, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the Gordon Hospice House following a brief illness. Glenda was born in Iredell County on March 27, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Troy Lee Pope and Eleanor Hoover Pope. She was a graduate of Scotts High School. She worked many years for Hines Shoes, Inc before going to work with K&W Cafeteria Inc. where she worked as an administrative assistant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Troy Ronald Waugh, a grandson, Matthew Lee Wiseman, and a sister, Brenda Cook. She is survived by a daughter, Leslie Fox (Dale) of Statesville and two sons, Darren Waugh (Kendall) of Marion, NC, and Cameron Waugh (Amber Bowers) of Mooresville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Madison Wiseman of Statesville, Nicholas Waugh of Mooresville, Reagan Waugh, Mackenzie Waugh, Reid Waugh, and Oliver Waugh, all of Marion. She is further survived by her companion Charles Saylor of Winston-Salem, NC Funeral services honoring the life of Glenda Waugh will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, December 23, 2016, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Pope officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 9:00 until 10:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
