Geraldine Mclain

Mrs. Peggy Geraldine Jordan McLain, 80, of Statesville, passed away, Wednesday, January 20, 2016. Mrs. McLain was born December 7, 1935 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Samuel Gates Jordan and Mabel Jordan Jordan. She was a graduate of Central High School and attended Mitchell College. In October 1954, she was married to the late Raeford L. McLain, Sr., who passed away on January 6, 1995. She was a member of Mountain View Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering with Iredell County Genealogy Society and with the Central Fire Department. She is survived by one son, Raeford L. McLain, Jr. of Statesville, two sisters, Connie Jordan Hancock (Al) of Johns Creek, GA, Joyce Jordan Webb (Billy) of Statesville, one brother, Sam Jordan of Statesville; two nieces, Linda Hancock (Karl) of GA, Dr. Kimberly Webb Floyd (Ben) of MT; two nephews, David Hancock of GA, William Webb of TN and one great nephew, Chris Hancock of GA. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2016 at Mountain View Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Harrill officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625 or to Oasis Shriners Temple, 604 Doug Mayes Pl, Charlotte, NC 28262. The family would like to give a warm thank you to her special caregivers Lucinda Thomas and Kay Mason, and other loving caregivers, the nurses and staff at Iredell Memorial Hospital and the nurses and staff of Gordon Hospice House.
