Georgia Wagner

September 20, 1931 — February 3, 2016

Georgia Stewart Wagner, 84, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. Mrs. Wagner was born September 20, 1931 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late George Austin and Ella Dagenhart Stewart. She was a graduate of Celeste-Henkel School and attended Carolina Business College. On December 15, 1951, she married the love of her life, Broadus "BB" Wagner, who passed away, February 21, 2015. After 63 years together, her life had a huge void that nothing could fill. Praise the Lord they are together again. Mrs. Wagner was a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church and was a former nursery caregiver and Sunday School Teacher. She helped her husband as they operated Wagner's TV together and she also worked for JC Penney Distribution Center for 14 years. She loved her family, her flowers, tending to her beautiful flowers and her vegetable garden, especially her tomatoes. She enjoyed square dancing with the Dixie Wheelers Square Dance group and the Hiddenite Emeralds. She is survived by a daughter, Kim W. Walden (Darrell) of Statesville, two grandsons, Bradley C. Walden (DeeAnne) of Statesville, Bryan C. Walden (Ashlyn) of Mooresville, three great grandsons, Blaine Walden, Cole M. Walden, Liam J. Walden, two sisters, Margeret Campbell of Statesville, Jo S. Lippard of Statesville, sister-in-law, Ovanelle Corriher (Paul) of Statesville and the prospect of a new great granddaughter, due in June 2016. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Newell Stewart and six sisters, Hazel Shaver, Polly Bass, Sarah Cashion, Mavis Davidson, Barbara Jolly and Brenda Broome. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Western Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Lackey and Rev. Robert Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the church. Active pallbearers will be Howard Englebert, Sam Troutman, Billy Ellenburg, Scott Wilson, Doug Walden, Trent Pettigrew, Stuart Campbell, Tommy Stewart and Rick Campbell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Georgia Wagner. The family would like to give a special thanks to the ED Staff and the nursing staff at Iredell Memorial Hospital for their special love and care, to Dr. Anita Misra who did everything medically possible for her and to the Gordon Hospice House for her comfort care. May God's richest blessings be bestowed on all of you.
