Georgia Ann Munday

Mrs. Georgia Ann Gwaltney Munday, 82, of Statesville, died Monday evening at Autumn Care of Cornelius. Born in Iredell County on December 28, 1934, she was a daughter of the late George Franklin Gwaltney and Lillie Edna Mason Gwaltney. She was a retired CNA from Davis Regional Medical Center. Ann loved her family, loved her church and church family. She loved playing the piano and gospel music. She found relaxation rocking in her rocking chair. Ann especially loved helping others. Caring for people was her passion. She was a member of South River Baptist Church. On March 12, 1988, she married Paul Munday who died on February 17, 1994. Survivors include her children: Joyce Bost (Billy) of Mooresville, Frank Hutchens (Patty) of Statesville, Dan Hutchens (Marlene) of Harmony and Edna Anderson (Bobby) of Harmony along with 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, November 10, 2017, at South River Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday from 12:30 until 1:45 PM at the church. Active pallbearers will be Kirt Anderson, Seth Hathcock, Jason Mayhew, Michael Lassiter, Casey Bailey, and Matthew Bost. Seventh St., Charlotte, N.C. 28204, South River Baptist Church, 2659 S. Chipley Ford Rd., Statesville, N.C. 28625 or to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
