George Dwight Holland

George Dwight Holland, 79, of Harmony passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born on February 22, 1939 to the late Cleveland Calaway Holland and Lena Mae Brooks Holland.



George attended Iredell County Schools and was a truck driver most of his career. He was married November 9, 1967 to Elaine Elizabeth Steele who preceded him in death.



Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Allen Holland and twin sisters, Randa Jane and Sandra Elaine Holland



He is survived by one son, Matthew Holland and two sisters, Mary Sensel with whom he made his home and Annie Bustle, all of Harmony.



Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Chenevey officiating. A private family burial will follow in the Grassy Knob Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00pm. At other times, the family will be assembled at Mary's home.
