Gentry Brewer

Mr. Gentry Lee Brewer, 92, of Statesville, passed away, Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mr. Brewer was born November 7, 1921, in Statesville and was the son of the late Dewey Samuel Brewer and Mary Emma Brewer. On December 24, 1941, he married his wife and love of his life, Willa Dean Williams, who preceded him in death. He loved spending time with this family and grandchildren. He also loved spending time with his brothers and sisters in Christ as a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Judith B Lance (Richard), Willa Dean B. Sigmon (John), one son, Tony Lee Brewer (Beulah), one daughter-in-law, Sylvia Brewer and was preceded in death by one son, Gentry Michael Brewer. In addition, are 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 7 great, great, grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, 7/21/14, 12:00 PM at Diamond Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Holleman and Rev. Jonathan Overcash officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at the church. Active pallbearers will be Gentry Micheal Brewer II, Jason Webb, Scott Simpson, Russell Richart, Justin Lewis, Paul Ballard. Honorary pallbearer will be Tracy Lee Brewer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Diamond Hill Baptist Church, 2320 East Broad Street, Statesville, NC 28677 or Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
