Gene Miller

Mr. Hubert Eugene Miller, 89, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, June19, 2013 at Autumn Care of Statesville. Mr. Miller was born July 30, 1923 in Catawba County and was the son of the late Jonas E. Miller and Sarah Etta Miller. He was a graduate of Catawba County Schools and served in the U.S. Army. He was married to the late Mary Sue Sipes Miller, who died February 17, 2012 after they had 66 years of marriage. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and was retired from Duke Power as a construction supervisor. Mr. Miller is survived by one daughter, Diane Isenhour (Frank) of Stony Point, one granddaughter, Melissa Clodfelter (Eric) of Troutman, granddog, Mocha and two sisters, JoAnne Miller and Aileen Pierce both of Statesville. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank A. Miller, Fred L. Miller and five sisters, Helen M. Mize, Francis Marie Miller, Lucille M. Travis, Betty M. Queen and Annie Burns. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. Olin Isenhour officiating.
