Gary Conley

Gary Wayne Conley, 71, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at his home. Mr. Conley was born May 1, 1942 in Nicholas County, WV and was the son of the late William Camden and Erma Boggs Conley. He was a graduate of Montgomery High School and West Virginia Tech. On July 23, 1965, Mr. Conley married Jeanette Carte Conley, who survives. He taught high school at Nicholas and Fayette County. He was later employed at Luberzol Corp. in Painesville, OH. He moved to Statesville in 1978 and owned his own business. After his retirement he was a self employed farmer. In addition to his wife of 48 years, Jeanette, he is survived by two daughters, Sara Lanier and husband Hank and Yvonne Robinson. He is also survived by three grandsons, Brandon and Tyler Robinson and Jarrod Lanier along with one granddaughter, Rachel Lanier, all of Statesville. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. At the request of Mr. Conley, there will be no formal funeral services and the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
