Garland Mcdaniels

Mr. Garland Jackie McDaniels, 59, of 1317 7th St. Statesville, died at his son's home on Thursday, December 18th following an extended illness. He was born in Iredell County and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda McDaniels and his son, William McDaniels. He was educated in the Iredell County Schools and was the associate pastor of the 7th St. Baptist Church. He is survived by his father, Rev. Leugene McDaniels of Statesville, three sons, Garland V.(Dinkle) McDaniels (Kathy) of Statesville, Jonathan McDaniels of Bethleham and Kelly Weatherman(Cindy) of Statesville, three daughters, Jeannie Nelson (Michael) Bethlehem, Lisa Weatherman of Statesville and Kim Martin (Barry) of Virginia Beach, Va. In addition, he is survived by two brothers, Marvin McDaniels(Diane) of Mooresville and Steven McDaniels (Reneee ) of Troutman, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was a devoted son, and loving father, grandfather and brother and will be sorely missed. Services celebrating his wife will be conducted at 11:00 Monday, December 22, 2014 at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Shumaker officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home. At other times they will be assembled at the home of Garland McDaniels at 115 Durand Lane, Statesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd.
