Gail Stewart

Gail Hooks Stewart, 66, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Ms. Stewart was born February 26, 1944 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Woodrow Albert Hooks and Margaret Stewart Hooks. Ms. Stewart attended Iredell County schools and she was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Ms. Stewart was preceded in death by one sister, Susan Rebecca Hooks along with one brother, Samuel Hooks. Ms. Stewart is survived by two daughters, Sandy Harmon Anderson and husband Joe and Kim Stewart Land and Husband Jamie, and one son, Bradley Stewart, all of Statesville. She is also survived by three sisters, Judy H. Tallent, Patsy H. Montaigne, and Gloria H. Huffman and husband, Danny; one brother, Woodrow A. Hooks II and wife Kaye. Three granddaughters, four grandsons, and one great-granddaughter, also survive, all of Statesville. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 pm Monday, February 7, 2011 at New Bethany Baptist Church with Minister Rick Hamrick and Pastor Nute Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
