Mr. Franklin Roosevelt Jolly, 74, of Fox Mountain Rd., Statesville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Mr. Jolly was born November 28, 1936 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Joe Stacey Jolly and Florence Patterson Jolly. He attended Iredell County schools and was retired from Southern Screw Co. He was a member of the Love Valley Mule Association and Rocky Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Jolly is survived by one daughter, Gidget J. Wilson (Scott) of Statesville, two grandsons, Joshua and Dustin Wilson, two sisters, Josephine Dowell of Statesville, Patsy Bell of Statesville, four brothers, Tom "Babe" Jolly of Statesville, Jack Jolly of Lexington, SC, Dale Jolly of Statesville, Terry Jolly of Statesville, granddaughters by choice, Jessica and Jackie Burns of Mocksville, special nieces, who are daughters of his friend, Dalmer Mason, Traci Mason, Tammy Lineberger, Trina Lee, many nieces and nephews, former wife, Barbara S. Jolly of Statesville and girlfriend, Beverly Walker of Mocksville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Jolly and one sister, Peggy Hayes. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Comprehensive Cancer Center for Cancer Research, c/o Office of Development, Medical Center Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27157-1021. Nicholson Funeral Home of Statesville is serving the family of Frank Jolly.
