Francis Eugene Neel

Mr. Francis Eugene (Frankie) Neel, 83, of Statesville, died Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on April 14, 1935, he was a son of the late Drew Latta Neel and Edna Davis Neel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 8 brothers.



Mr. Neel served in the U. S. Army and was a retired hydraulic mechanic. He was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church and enjoyed family, camping, gardening, tinkering on lawn mowers and formerly enjoyed playing guitar and skating.



Survivors include his wife, Janice Miller Neel, a daughter, Lorie Neel Geisler (James) of Statesville, two grandsons, Brandon Geisler (Katie) of North Huntingdon, Pa., and Logan Geisler (Lindsay) of Virginia Beach, Va. Also surviving are a sister, Deanna Clarke (John) of Dripping Springs, Texas and several nieces and nephews.



Services celebrating Frankie's life will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday at New Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Mason officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
