Frances Louise Morrison

Frances Louise Bridges Morrison, 92, of Statesville, passed away at the Gordon Hospice House Saturday, August 6, 2016. She was born in Polkville, NC on December 7, 1923 to the late John Lester and Mattie Powell Bridges. Mrs. Morrison was married to the late Hugh Franklin Morrison who preceded her in death. She was a housewife but for a number of years she worked in the lunchroom for the Iredell/Statesville School System. As a child, she was a member of Polkville Baptist Church and as an adult she was a member of Calvary Community Church in Statesville. She loved her neighborhood canasta games and her flowers. Along with her parents and husband, Hugh, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Vernie Bridges Murray; a brother, John Bridges Jr., and a half-brother, Dean Bridges and stepmother, Mildred Bridges. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Rita Morrison White (Danny) of Colerain, NC and Kim Morrison Taylor (Jeff) of Statesville; two sons, Larry Morrison (Jean) and Mike Morrison, both of Statesville; grandchildren, David White, Jonathan Morrison (Andrea), Matthew Morrison, Paula Morrison, Ian Taylor (Tonya), Canaan Taylor (Kelsey), MacKenzie Taylor; two step-grandsons, Brian Tuthill (Emily) and Scott Tuthill (Melissa); great grandchildren, Dylan Morrison, Austin Morrison, Sydney Tuthill, Hannah Tuthill and Carter Tuthill; a brother, Bob Bridges of Morganton, NC, a step-sister, MaryAnn Clark of Polkville, and a sister-in-law, Brenda Bridges of Polkville, NC. Funeral services for Mrs. Morrison will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Coley officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
