Frances Howard James

August 3, 1926 — January 10, 2016

Mrs. Frances H. James, 89, of Statesville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2015. She was born in Blunt, South Dakota to the late Helen & Don Howard. Mrs. James was a retired book keeper and owner of James Trucking Company in Statesville. She was fun loving, caring, witty and a little sassy, with a huge heart for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, N.C.James, Jr., her two brothers, Kenny and Jimmy Howard and her grandson, Jason Madison. Left to cherish her memory are her children and spouses: Sandra and Doug Madison of Statesville, Pat and Jim Vining of Rock Hill, S.C. and Norman and DeAnn James of Raleigh, her grandchildren: Jude and Kristi Madison Pfeufer, Matt and Toni Madison, Jon and Katie Madison, Seth and Sarah Vining, William and Megan Vining, Ben and Selen Vining, Camden Drash, Gavin Smith and great grandchildren: Kayla Madison, Aaron Madison, Morgan Madison, Jackie Madison, Genevieve Madison, Anya Madison, Carys Madison, Tanner Vining, Forrest Vining and her very special friend & caretaker, Barbara Smith. Services celebrating Mrs. James' life will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, January 14, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Nelson Granade & Dr. Jack Causey officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Adams Hall of the church. Private family burial will precede the service at Oakwood Cemetery. Nicholson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
