Frances Fincannon

Mrs. Frances Christopher Fincannon, 89, of Statesville, died Monday, November 24, 2014 at Mapleleaf Health Care Center. Born in Iredell County on August 22, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Walter David Christopher and Lottie Danyels Christopher. On December 1, 1945 she married Arthur Lee Fincannon, Sr. who died on June 14, 2001. Frances loved her family, Sunday meals, the beach and the mountains. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a member of the B.P.W. and the Civitan Club. She served as the Pastor's secretary first at Front Street Baptist Church and then at First Baptist Church. She was a 1942 graduate of Statesville High School. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas David Fincannon. Survivors include a son Arthur Lee (Art) Fincannon, Jr. and his wife, Lori of Statesville, grandchildren: Brea Nance (Scott), Kara Levesque (Josh), Leslie Lovelace (David), Thomas Fincannon, Lee and Matt Parker. Also surviving are great grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Noah Nance, Keli Church, Layne Smith, David Lovelace, Maggie and Chloe Parker along with a daughter-in-law, Linda Sitton of Tampa, Fla. and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Mack Mathis and Dr. Jack Causey officiating. A Memorial Service will then be conducted at 11:00 Friday at Oakdale Baptist Church with visitation following in the church sanctuary.
