Mrs. Frances Faye Nash Bustle, 82, of Statesville, lived on this earth from Aug. 8, 1933, to Aug. 19, 2015. She was a daughter of the late Lonnie and Nona Nash. Frances lived. She lived with Jesus in her heart, a big smile on her beautiful, round face and a sparkle in her big, brown eyes. Frances lived. She lived to please her parents, except for one night in August 1949, when the only man she ever lived for, Henry Grier Bustle, swept her away to cross the state line and elope in York, S.C. Frances lived. She lived a simple life on a simple rural road in West Iredell. She lived her whole life, save for a few months, in two white houses on that same road - one her childhood home place and the other her and Grier's family home. Frances attended Celeste Henkel School through 11th grade. She was a homemaker for 12 years and then made a career working for Beauty Maid Mills for 33 years. When the plant closed, she went to finish what she started at Celeste and received her high school diploma at age 61. Frances lived. Her little white farmhouse with its pasture in front and swimming pool and garden in the back was a magnet for her family, friends and tax clients. She lived to cook for her family. Her dinner table overflowed with home-cooked meals, mostly from her and Grier's farm and garden. Every Sunday after church, every Monday night, every Wednesday night and every Christmas morning, she took great joy in cooking for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, plus anyone else who happened by. She loved to celebrate birthdays, too, and cooked a special meal for each family member's birthday every year. Every January through April 15, from 1966 until 2015, Frances welcomed thousands of people to come sit at her dinner table as she prepared their taxes. Frances lived. She lived as a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church and for a time was Director of the Junior Department and most recently was a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class. She lived to sit in her recliner and read her Bible or her Statesville Record and Landmark and watch her news on TV. She also lived to watch the Atlanta Braves and the occasional NASCAR race, if an Earnhardt was leading. She loved to eat at her favorite restaurant, Jones Fish Camp in Denver, N.C. every Saturday night. Frances was the last of her siblings to live. Her sisters were Louise Nash, Ruby Elliott, Martha Myers, and twin sister, Doris Babb; and her brothers were Robert Nash, Larry Nash and Billy Nash. Those left to cherish the life she lived are her husband of 66 years, Grier; her son, David Bustle, and her daughters Kathy Moose and Debbie McNeely, who she gave away in a double wedding ceremony to sons-in-law Gary Moose and Lynn McNeely. Those who called her Mamaw were her grandchildren Rob McNeely, and his wife, Ali; Jennifer McNeely Davenport, and her husband Joe; and Cheryl Moose Shuffler, and her husband, Wes; as well as her granddaughters, Timber Davenport, Breanna Davenport, Loch McNeely, Grier McNeely and Alison Shuffler. Survivors also include her brother- and sister-in-law Allen and Shirley Bustle, brother-in-law Louis Bustle; sisters-in-law Wilma Nash and Karen Nash; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; special friends Paul and Joan Billings, Jo Morrison, Sandie Seymour and the Seymour family, the ladies of her Sunday school class, Mildred Price and the Friday morning beauty shop ladies, and her many tax clients.
