Florine Jones

Mrs. Florine Mildred Fox Jones, 93, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Serenity House in Mooresville. Mrs. Jones was born May 7, 1917 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Albertes "A.P." Fox and Jewell Anderson Fox. She was a graduate of Statesville City Schools and on Sept. 1, 1940, she was married to the late Warren R. Jones, Jr., who passed away in 1985. She was as lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where she volunteered at the church and for other church needs. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Jones is survived by a son, W. Roger Jones, III (Nancy) of Statesville, one granddaughter, Kim Jones of Durham, NC and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers, Margarette F. Stikeleather, Everette, Elmer, Lewis, Robert and Frank Fox. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Porter officiating. The family will visit with friends following the graveside services.
