Florencio Machado

Florencio “Mac” Machado, 83 of Statesville died Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Salisbury, NC.

He was born in Uruguay on April 3, 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, all of Uruguay..

Mac worked with the police and military in Uruguay before coming to the United States. His last job here was at Manheim Auto Auction. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Church, and he enjoyed gardening, reading the Bible, and reading and learning American History. He was very kindhearted, generous, and happy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of over 30 years, Trinidad Mendoza Machado, of Statesville, a daughter, Mary, three brothers, one sister, two granddaughters, and two great-grandsons, all of Uruguay.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 6:00 pm with Father Bernard officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 525 Camden Dr., Statesville, NC 28625.
