Florence Lowe

Florence Grant Lowe, 92, of Harmony, passed away, Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Maple Leaf Health Care. Mrs. Lowe was born April 2, 1922 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late John Walter Grant and Elizabeth York Grant. She attended Iredell County schools and was married to the Richard R. Lowe, who passed away in 1962. She worked for J.P. Stevens for 35 years and was a member of Winthrop Friends Meeting. Mrs. Lowe is survived by one son, James "Jimmy" Richard Lowe, of Harmony, three brothers, Joseph Marvin Grant of Melbourn, FL, William Colon Grant of Statesville, Ralph Donald Grant of Hamptonville, one sister, Evelyn Grant Harris of Yadkinville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Lowe in 2005 and three brothers, Vander Lee Grant, John Bristol Grant and Lester Raymond Grant. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at Winthrop Friends Meeting with Rev. Harold Salmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the church.
