Flora Lucero Leigh

THOMASVILLE-Mrs. Flora Maria Lucero Leigh, 86, of Thomasville, NC passed away at her home on February 12, 2021. The daughter of the late Paul, Sr. and Dolores Santillanez Lucero, "Flo" was a homemaker that loved antiques, travelling (especially cruises), gambling, and watching professional football. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leigh is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Robert Leigh, and brothers and sisters Mary Ritchey, Nash Lucero, Paul Lucero, Jr. and Celestino Lucero, step-sister, Stephie Osana. Left to cherish her memories are her sons John Maldonado (Donna) of Aiken, SC and Tom Maldonado of Thomasville, four sisters Martha Kania (Albert) of Florida, Lucille Bonini of New Jersey, Sylvia Sanchez (Walter) of Thomasville, and Jeanette Califano (Joe) of Colorado, four grandchildren Jennifer, Bridgitte, Dominique, and Jayde, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service honoring Mrs. Leigh will be held at B&B Funeral and Cremation Services, 1528 National Highway, Thomasville, NC on February 27, 2021 at 11 am. Burial with military honors will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery on March 2, 2021 at 2 pm, where she and her husband will be buried together. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to St. Jude Hospital.
