Faye White

Faye West White, 89, passed away Friday, August 19, 2011. She was born September 11, 1921, in Statesville, NC, to the late Mr. Allison Columbus West and Alba Jane West. Faye was a live-long resident of Statesville and had recently moved this year to Westminster, MD, where her son David Harry White and his wife A. Michele White live. She worked for many years at Wallace Jewelers as well as running the family farm. After retiring, she was a long-time volunteer at Davis Hospital. Faye was an avid reader and a skilled knitter - making numerous infant caps for the newborns at Davis Hospital. She shared her love for knitting by teaching several people to knit as well as making afghans, baby blankets and booties, sweaters, and anything else that could be made with yarn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by James Thomas White, formerly her husband; and her son James "Jimmy" Allison White. Surviving is her son David Harry White and wife Michele, of Westminster, MD; her grandson James Christopher White and wife Elizabeth of Kernersville, NC; her granddaughter Shann Ferreira of Jamestown, NC; and great-grandchildren Samuel, Dominic and Alayna; numerous nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be at 1 pm Monday at First ARP Church in Statesville at 1 pm on Monday, August 22, 2011. Burial will follow at New Amity A.R. P. Church in Statesville, near the Scotts community. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, August 21 at will be at Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville.
