Eva Nell Gryder

Mrs. Eva Nell Daniels Gryder, 73, of Statesville, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Gryder was born June 4, 1938 in Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late Boyd William Daniels and Eva Hopkins Daniels. In 1958 she was married to the late James Harold "Buck" Gryder, who died Nov. 10, 1997. She was a member of Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church and was a CNA at Iredell Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2002. Mrs. Gryder is survived by four daughters, Pam G. Troutman of Statesville, Sherry G. Marsh (Danny) of Mooresville, Kimberly G. Long (Farrell) of Statesville, Dawn Lackey (Scott) of Statesville; nine grandchildren, Jana Overcash, Joshua Troutman, Justin Troutman, Daniel Marsh, Bradley Marsh, Wesley Long, Bekah Long, Amber Lackey and Allie Lackey, four great grandchildren and three brothers, Frank Daniels (Barbara) of Charlotte, Richard Daniels and Steve Daniels (Joan) both of Statesville. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Doub and Rev. Steve Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home and at other times will assemble at the residence, 168 Kiser Lane, Statesville.
