Eva Byers

Eva Mae McLain Byers, 85, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Brian Nursing Center in Mooresville. Mrs. Byers was born February 7, 1926 in Alexander County and was the daughter of the late Hubert Clarence McLain and Dora Johnson McLain. She attended Iredell County Schools and she was married to Coleman Henry Byers, who preceded her in death in April 1990. Mrs. Byers was a homemaker and she was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Byers was also preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth Byers and Ricky Byers along with one daughter, Wanda Byers. Mrs. Byers is survived by two sons, Jerry Byers (Robin) of King, NC, William Byers (Regina) of Mooresville, along with one daughter, Barbara Weaver of Statesville. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Byers will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, September 19, 2011 in the Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Clarence Cloer officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday evening 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to Iredell Blues, 4 NC, Co. A.
