Escar Lackey

Mr. Escar Lee Lackey, 85, of Statesville, passed away, Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Statesville Place. Mr. Lackey was born September 24, 1927 in Alexander County and was the son of the late Charlie Carson Lackey and Maybelle Thomas Lackey. He attended Stony Point Schools and on December 19, 1947 was married to the late Betty Louise Teague Lackey, who passed away May 28, 2013. Earlier in his life, Escar was a member, Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at Fairview Baptist Church, before later joining Western Avenue Baptist Church. He worked for Public Service Gas Company as a Supervisor before retiring after 37
