Ervin "Gib" Mcguirt

Ervin Gilbert (Gib) McGuirt, 83, of Statesville, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. He was born November 30, 1933. He is survived by his sisters, Jenny McGuirt Deaton (Bo) of Wilmington and two daughters, Amanda Brooks (Wendell) and Elizabeth Blankenship (Mike). Mr. McGuirt graduated from Statesville Senior High School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. For years he worked in paper sales traveling the country. Golfing was his joy, before and after retirement. Gib never met a stranger and always had a funny story or a joke to tell.
