Eric Jennings Luther

Eric Jennings Luther, 31, of Statesville, died unexpectedly Friday, August 25, 2017. He was born on March 10, 1986 in Salisbury, NC to Terry Lane Luther and Karen Elliott Luther. Eric was a graduate of Statesville High School and attended Wilkes Community College where he earned a certificate in Culinary Arts. He had most recently worked at the Chef House in Statesville. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Along with his parents, Terry and Karen, he is survived by a brother, Elliott Lane Luther (Amber) of Stony Point; a niece, Lilly Marie; and two nephews, Braydon and Ghunner. He is further survived by his maternal grandfather, Forrest Elliott of Nichols, SC; an aunt, Landis Elliott of Nichols, SC; and two uncles, Gene Luther of Blaine, WA and Bill Luther of Dallas, TX. Eric was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, James Frank Luther and Verona Mae Buffkin Luther and maternal grandmother, Vonceil Hutchinson Elliott. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Eric will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Fitzgerald and Rev. Gervase Hitch officiating. The family will visit with friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Nichols, SC on a later date.
