Emory Arnold Martin

June 16, 1942 — September 29, 2018

Emory Arnold Martin, 76, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born on June 16, 1942 in Iredell County to the late Ambrose and Thelma Church Martin.



Mr. Martin attended Iredell County Schools and was married to Cleo Harper on March 5, 1965. They shared over 53 years of marriage before his passing. He was retired from Ready Mix Concrete Company after many years of service. Arnold was a member of Mt. Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church and he loved riding his motorcycle and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.



Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, AnnaBella Martin; a sister, Martha Martin; and a sister-in-law Mary Galliher.



Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cleo; three sons, Terry Martin (Sheila), Gary Martin (Courtney), and Barry Martin (Jaime); four grandchildren, Maggie Martin, Alex Martin, Emily Martin, and Charlie Martin; brothers/sister-in-law, Joe and Christine Harper and Randy Galliher; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Mt. Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church with Rev. David Walters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00pm.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church or to the Gordon Hospice House. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com and Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
