Elsie Rebecca Guy

Elsie Rebecca Lentz Guy, 98, of Statesville, passed away Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Iredell County on December 12, 1916 to the late Frank and Fannie Lippard Lentz. Mrs. Guy was a graduate of Iredell County Schools and was married to Edwin "Bill" Guy, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She was a very active member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church. Along with her parents and husband, Bill, she was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Left to cherish her memory are four sons, Edwin B. Guy (Marti), David "Rusty" Guy (Shirley), Frank W. Guy (Susan), all of Statesville, and Chris E. Guy (Brenda) of Des Allemands, LA; four grandsons, Eric Guy of Taylorsville, William, Carley, and Aaron Guy, all of Statesville; nine great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews; along with her special caretakers, Lisa Crawford and Jennifer Williams. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church with Pastor Gene Bruce and Seminarian Will Dulin officiating. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jim Goss, Aaron Guy, Carley Guy, Eric Guy, William Guy, and Tommy Hall. The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 106 Mt. Hermon Road, Statesville, NC (intersection of Old Mountain Road and Mt. Hermon Road). Memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church Building Fund, 110 Mt. Hermon Road, Statesville, N.C. 28625.
