Elsa Nystrom Raushi

Mrs. Elsa Nystrom Raushi, 86, of Statesville, died Monday, May 30, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born February 5, 1930 in Rockford, Illinois and she was a daughter of the late Hilmer Nystrom and Elsa Rustand Nystrom. Mrs. Raushi was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman and was an avid quilter. She held a Masters Degree from Syracuse University and taught nursing at the college level. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Raushi, a son, Steve Raushi and his wife, Sandy and a daughter, Elaine Raushi and her husband, Peter Mascari. Services celebrating Mrs. Raushi's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman with Pastor Dieter W. Punt officiating.
