Elizabeth Tib Lumsden

March 15, 1922 — December 24, 2018

Elizabeth (Tib) Cline Lumsden, 96, of Statesville, died Monday, December 24, 2018 at Autumn Care of Statesville. Born in Iredell County on March 15, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Cline and Rachel Ethel Troutman Cline. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jones Franklin (Lum) Lumsden, an infant daughter, Jane Elizabeth Lumsden and a granddaughter, Gretchen Lumsden Landau, along with 2 brothers and 2 sisters.



Tib was a lifetime active member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She retired from Iredell Memorial Hospital as the Director of Housekeeping after 20 years and after retiring volunteered for many years. She was a 1939 graduate of Statesville High School and a member of the "39" Club.



Survivors include a son, Thomas D. Lumsden (Robin)of Statesville, a daughter, Dianne Lumsden Shearer (Jack) of Naples, Fla. and a grandson, Roman Lumsden (Vickie) of Dallas, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.



Services celebrating Tib's life will be conducted at 11:00 Friday, December 28, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Ernie Sheldon officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
