Elizabeth Marie Smith

Mrs. Elizabeth Marie Reid Smith, 79, of Union Grove, has returned to the God who gave her life on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, from Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Iredell County on January 24, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Claude Thomas Reid and Velma Marie Rash Reid. She was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints where she was active as a counselor, relief society president, librarian, Sunday School teacher and flower chair. She formerly owned Marie's Florist and enjoyed painting, decorating and flower arranging. On June 13, 1958, she married Harold Wayne Smith who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Sandra Nakita Edwards of Union Grove and Sherry Elizabeth Innocenzi (Michael) of Harmony and a son, Harold Wayne Smith, Jr. of Salt Lake City, Utah. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Services celebrating Mrs. Smith's life will be conducted at 3 :00 on Monday, December 14, 2015 at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Ray Ruppe officiating. She will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service and burial will follow in the Grassy Knob Baptist Church Cemetery.
