Elizabeth Childers

Elizabeth Davis Childers, 93, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Autumn Care of Marion, NC. Mrs. Childers was born March 4, 1918 in Pulaski, TN and was the daughter of the late George Butler Davis, Sr. and Thella Whitfield Davis. She was a graduate of Pulaski High School in TN and was married to the late Reece DeVowell Childers, who passed away in 1988. She was a member of Front Street Baptist Church and was retired from Davis Hospital as a Nursing Assistant. Mrs. Childers is survived by one son, Rev. Terry D. Childers and wife, Betty of Marion, NC, three grandchildren, Melanie Childers, Brian Childers and wife, Jennifer, Jason Childers and wife, Missy and three great grandchildren, Hannah, Spencer and Madison Childers. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin Boyer and Rev. Melanie Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sat. from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Front Street Baptist Church, 1431 W.
