Eleanor Brinegar Dagenhart

Mrs. Eleanor Parsons Brinegar Dagenhart, 88, of Statesville, died Friday, September 29, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living. Born in Wilkes County on June 24, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Everette Franklin Parsons and Rose Lee Owens Parsons. On November 15, 1947, she married Mr. Homer C. Brinegar who died in 1992. She later married Mr. James Pressley Dagenhart on March 16, 1996 who survives. Mrs. Dagenhart was a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church. She formerly worked for Northwestern Bank, later First Union Bank and retired from there as a teller and in customer service in 1985. She graduated from Millers Creek High School and the Statesville Business School. She was very active in the American Heart Association and was a former President of the American Business Womens Association. Survivors in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Mrs. Jeanie Brinegar Moose (David) of Statesville, two grandsons, Andrew David Moose (Ashley Spaller) and Justin Brinegar Moose (Natalia). Also surviving is a great grandchild, August Additional survivors include brothers: Steve Parsons and Elden Parsons and sisters: Everine P. Brooks, Corinne P. Fowler and Rosemarie P. Roberts. She was preceded in death by brothers: Virgil, Mack, Harry, Gant and Grant Parsons and a sister, Liz P. Brady Private family graveside services are scheduled for 10 :00 A.M. Monday at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Andy Lackey and Dr. Earl Linderman officiating. The family will then greet friends at Nicholson Funeral Home from 11:00 until 12:30 P.M.
