Elaine Morrison Campbell

Elaine Morrison Campbell, 72, of Statesville, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, August 1, 2016 following a brief illness. She was born on December 27, 1943 in Iredell County to the late O.B. and Carrie Hartness Morrison. Elaine was a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church and graduated from Scotts High School Class of 1961. She married Charles Franklin Campbell on January 12, 1963. Elaine was retired from Iredell/Statesville Schools where she had worked as a Teacher Assistant. She was a loving wife, mother, mawmaw, and sister. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles F. Campbell, and her daughters, Carla Waller (Terry), Lisa Yountz (Andy), and Jennifer Tucker (Milton); seven grandchildren, Justin Winstead (Janna), Megan Ladd (Travis), Sarah Hutchins (Matt), Molly Yountz (Nick Moore), Ross, Lanie, and Carlie Tucker; along with five great grandsons, Andrew and Austin Ladd, Brantlee Moore, Jacsyn Winstead, and Maddox Hutchins. She is further survived by six brothers, Albert (Ruby), Wayne (Jo Ann), Gale (Elaine), Norman (Maria), Joe (Karan), and Barry (Pam) Morrison; two sisters, Imogene Stroud (Jim) and Marlene Morrison; and a special cousin, Glenda Summers. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Wesley Morris and Pastor Randy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Grassy Knob Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Justin Winstead, Ross Tucker, Travis Ladd, Matt Hutchins, Nick Moore, Andrew Ladd, and Austin Ladd. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers, Albert, Wayne, Gale, Norman, Joe, and Barry Morrison. Memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
