Edna Lee Lackey

Edna Lee Bustle Lackey, 84 of Statesville, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015. She was born in Iredell County August 29, 1931 to the late Charlie Armfield Bustle and Mable Shell Bustle . She attended Iredell County Schools and in 1947 married Charles Austin Lackey who preceded her in death. Mrs. Lackey retired from Uniglass Industries after 40 years of service and was a member of Command Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to the beach, yard sales, flea markets, dancing and gospel music. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Tommy Charles Lackey in 1967 and Michael Eugene Lackey in 2013, a sister, Helen Jean Bustle Brewer and a brother, C.A. Bustle, Jr. Mrs. Lackey is survived by a son, Jerry Edward Lackey (Bonnie) of Statesville, 2 grandsons, Brian Matthew Lackey (Victoria), and Adam Lackey, 3 granddaughters, Kelly Lackey Yohe (Jeremy), Jamie Ford Wingate (Jerry) and Astria Lackey, 11 great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Nita V. Lackey, 3 sisters, Doris Bustle Levan, Joann Bustle Wallace (Dwight), and Louise Bustle Christie (Doug). She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Lackey will be held Thursday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony E. Bunton, Rev. Randy Church and Rev. Keith Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Command Baptist Church Cemetery. Pall bearers will be, Paxton Cornett, Mason Richardson, Cody Hartzell, Austin Grant, Brian Lackey, Matthew Current and Adam Lackey. The family would like to thank niece, Cindy B. Ledford, for her love and care of Mrs. Lackey and also a caregiver, William Barber. Memorials may be given to Command Baptist Church, 658 Island Ford Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
