Edith Hoover

Mrs. Edith Misenheimer Hoover, 92, of Statesville, passed away, Monday, January 04, 2016 at Rosewood Assisted Living in Harmony. Mrs. Hoover was born September 17, 1923 in Stanley County, NC and was the daughter of the late George and Nancy Sell Misenheimer. She was a graduate of Stanley County schools, Phiefer College and Davis Hospital school of Nursing. On June 20, 1948, she was married to the late Philip Hoover. Who died on December 6, 2010. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman and taught at Davis Hospital School of Nursing until the school's closure. She is survived by one son, James Hoover and wife, Renee of Statesville, two granddaughters, Amanda and Grace Hoover of Statesville and one grandson, Jack Hoover of Statesville. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, January 7, 2016 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chris Thompson and Jack Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International, www.gideons.org and to the charity of the donor's choice.
