Edd Harrold

Mr. Edd Harrold, 75, of Union Grove, died Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Wilkes County on April 12, 1942, he was a son of the late Gilmore Harrold and Ethel Harrold Harrold. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pliney Shoemaker Harrold on February 16, 2009. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Jarvis, Ralph and Roby Harrold. He was a member of Grassy Knob Baptist Church and was a retired furniture worker. He enjoyed family, hunting and fishing. Survivors include a son, Archie Harrold (Stacey) of Union Grove, 2 grandchildren: Austin Harrold and Sierra Nicholson and 2 step great grandchildren: Emma and Gage Nicholson. Also surviving are brothers: Walter, Wayne, Wade and Jerry Harrold and sisters: Beulah Taylor, Edith Felts, Della Shumate, Ruby Waller, Betty Foster, Nancy Greer and Fay Foster. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Friday at Grassy Knob Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Wagoner and Rev. Kenneth McCann officiating. The body will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
