Ed Cochran

Mr. Ambrose Edward "Ed" Cochran, 78, of Statesville, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Cochran was born November 4, 1932 in Union, S.C. and was the son of the late John H. Cochran and Alice Ledford Cochran. He attended school in Bryson City and was self-employed as a painter. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cochran was also preceded in death by a special friend, Juanita Huffman Cochran. Mr. Cochran is survived by one daughter, Teresa Sigmon and one grandson, Eric Sigmon, both of Statesville. He is also survived by two brothers, Harold Cochran of Haw River, N.C. and Jerry Cochran of High Point, N.C. along with two sisters, Carolyn Gaines of Asheboro, N.C. and Wanda Goldston of Whitsett, N.C. Funeral services for Mr. Cochran will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, August 28, 2011 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Johnson and Elder Ralph Gaines officiating. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Statesville Full Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery.
