Earie Holloway

Earie Blanton Holloway, 94, of Statesville, passed away Wed. Jan. 5, 2011 at Maple Leaf Health Care of Statesville. Mrs. Holloway was born December 7, 1916 in Cleveland County, NC and was the daughter of the late George Monroe Blanton and Artie Jane Blanton. She attended Shelby City Schools, was a member of Laura Memorial Church of God in Mooresville and was retired from Buck Knitting. Mrs. Holloway is survived by one granddaughter, Jennifer Holloway McLain (Donald) of Davidson, one great granddaughter, Amelie McLain of Davidson, one sister, Vivian McKee of Gastonia, NC and a number of nieces and nephews. Earie was preceded in death by one son, Odell Holloway in 1985, one daughter, Sandy H. Cook in 1982 and 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery in Shelby, NC. The family received friends on Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
