Dwight Moody Windsor

Dwight Moody Windsor, age 90, of Statesville, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Gordon Hospice House.  Born on February 19, 1934, in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Morrison L. Windsor and Mary Lee Barnard Windsor.

Mr. Windsor attended Harmony High School.  On March 2, 1958, he married the love of his life, Carol Martin at Tabor Presbyterian Church and were members of Forest Park Presbyterian Church.  He was an auto mechanic having retired from Windsor Auto Service.  Mr. Windsor was Treasurer of the Men's Bible Class of Forest Park Presbyterian Church, and a classic car enthusiast.  He was also a Hot Air Balloon enthusiast where he and his wife, Carol served on many chase crew teams and were members of the Iredell Aeronauts.

In addition to his parents, Morrison L. and Mary Lee Barnard Windsor, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gilbert Windsor, Billy Windsor, Luther Windsor, and Thomas Windsor.  Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 66 years, Carol Martin Windsor; son, Keith M. Windsor and his wife, Stacy; grandson, Matthew R. Windsor; his sisters, Hester Windsor Strikeleather and Diane Windsor Hepler; step-brothers, Jerry Windsor, George Windsor and Mickey Windsor; and his step-sisters, Patsy Veach and Carol Gaither.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday evening, April 6, 2024, at Nicholson Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Forest Park Presbyterian Church with Pastor Sue Black officiating.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville.
