Douglas Gilbert Windsor

Douglas Gilbert "Doug" Windsor, 53, of Statesville, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his home.



Doug was born in Reno, NV on January 28, 1965 and was the son of Linda Rivers Windsor and the late James Gilbert Windsor. He was a graduate of West Iredell High School and was of the Baptist faith.



Doug was employed with Engineer Sintered Components.



In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a niece, Jennifer Windsor.



Along with his mother, he is survived by two sons, Scottie Windsor and Bryan Windsor (Alacey), both of Statesville, two daughters, Ashley Transue of Clemmons and Jessica Windsor of Asheville. He is also survived by three grandsons, Bladen Windsor and Skyler Windsor, both of Statesville and Avan Windsor of Asheville and one granddaughter, Maci Windsor. He is further survived by two sisters, Barbara Case (Terry) of Statesville and Rebecca Rowley (Chris) of Arizona and one brother, Michael Windsor of Mooresville. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.



Funeral services honoring the life of Doug Windsor will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, Dec 22, 2018 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker, Jr. and Rev. Jim Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the funeral service at Nicholson Funeral Home and there will be a family gathering on Friday evening at the home of Doug Windsor starting at 3 PM.
