Dorothy Rimmer

Dorothy Brown Rimmer, 80, of Statesville, passed away, Friday, March 16, 2012 at Davis Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Rimmer was born November 12, 1931 in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late John Butler Brown and Myrtle Armstrong Brown. She attended Gaston County Schools and on January 10, 1948 was married to the late Robert D. Rimmer, who passed away in June 2002. She was a former member of Bristol Drive Baptist Church, was retired from Southern Furniture in addition to being a homemaker. Mrs. Rimmer is survived by one son, David Rimmer of Charlotte and his wife, Nanette who passed away in May 2009, one daughter, Silvia Miller (Randy) of Statesville, one grandson, Chad Miller (Andrea) of Hickory, three great grandchildren, Isabel Miller, Micaela Miller, Lucas Miller all of Hickory, one sister, Joyce Summey (Floyd) of Belmont and one sister-in-law, Macey Brown of Belmont. In addition to her parents, husband and daughter-in-law, she was preceded in death by one brother, Hoyle Brown. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
