Dorothy Lee Peoples

Dorothy Lee Peoples, 78, of Statesville, passed away, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Maple Leaf Health Care. Dorothy was born June 6, 1939 in Forsyth County to the late Robert Lee Peoples and Ardenia Linville Nicks. She was a graduate of Walkertown school and was a member of Westminster Church of God. She previously worked for Carolina Mills, before retiring. She is survived by one daughter, Lynn Whiteside (Johnny) of Hiddenite, two sons, Gary Cox (Tammy) of Statesville, Pete Cox (Libby) of Statesville, four granddaughters, four great grandchildren and one sister, Janet Doyle of Oak Ridge, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Peoples and a special grandson, Stephen Peoples. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Aaron Hollifield officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will speak with friends on Friday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
