Dorothy Joann Bennett

Dorothy Joann Moose Bennett, 85, of Statesville, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 7, 1932 in Catawba County to the late Eugene Walter and Vera Stewart Moose.



Mrs. Bennett attended Iredell County Schools and worked in textiles most of her career. She retired from Heritage Knitting after many years of service. Dorothy was a loving mother, sister, and aunt who will be dearly missed.



Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Baxter, Walter, and Jerry Moose; and one sister, Peggy Moose.



Left to cherish her memory are her son, David Bennett; five sisters, Mary Schaneman, Dessie Greenwood (Gary), Christine Miller, Linda Dellinger (David), and Debbie Moose (Tony); two brothers, James and Johnny Moose; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held 3:30 p, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at New Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 2:30 until 3:30 pm.
