Dorothy €Œjean” Miles

Dorothy Jean Johnson Miles, 83, formerly of Statesville, passed away, Monday, August 20, 2018 in Elkin, NC.



Mrs. Miles was born August 22, 1934 in Sparta, NC and was the daughter of the late Clyde M. Johnson and Opal Dickinson Johnson. She attended Alleghany County Schools and was married to the late William "Bill" Earl Miles, who died December 24, 2002. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and formerly owned her own seamstress company.



She is survived by two sons, James Carrol Miles (Denise) of Harmony, Gregory Earl Miles of Statesville, two granddaughters, Brook Miles of Statesville, Ashley Miles of Cana, VA; one great granddaughter, Brianna Hinceman and one brother, Kemp Johnson of Lexington, NC.



Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Cherry Lane Baptist Church Cemetery in Sparta, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
