Mrs. Doris Faye Johnson Wooten, 78, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Wooten was born April 27, 1934 in Iredell County and was the daughter of Fred and Verdia Bowles Johnson. She attended Iredell County Schools and on March 19, 1949, she married Harold J. Wooten, who preceded her in death on November 11, 1989. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wooten was also preceded in death by one sister, Jeraldine Johnson Wooten Jolly along with two brothers, Paul and Clyde Johnson. Mrs. Wooten is survived by three daughters, Connie W. Dagenhart (Gene) and Kathy W. Cook (Dan), both of Statesville and Sharon W. Johnson (Alan) of Troutman along with one son, Kenneth H. Wooten (Trudy) of Statesville. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Nick Dagenhart of High Point Josh Dagenhart of Statesville, Bradley Johnson (Lauren) of Statesville, Brandon Wooten of Statesville Travis Wooten of Fort Hood, TX, Erin J. Hutchins (Patrick) of Statesville, Melissa Cook of Dunn. NC, and Stephanie Cook of Winston Salem, Doug Gallina (Cori-Anne), of Statesville, and Sean Gallina, of Waxhaw, NC. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Layla and Rylee Wooten and Jordan, Joseph and Ella Gallina, a number of nieces and nephews, a special caregiver Pat Barnes and her faithful companion Zoie. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wooten will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. Olin Isenhour officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Nick Dagenhart, Josh Dagenhart, Bradley Johnson, Brandon Wooten, Travis Wooten, Sean Gallina and Tom Williamson. The family will visit with friends Saturday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 PM at the Nicholson Funeral Home.
