Doris Shore Murdock

Doris Ruth Shore Murdock, 84, of Troutman, died Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born in Yadkin County on July 1, 1937, to the late William T. Shore, Sr., and Sinia Holleman Shore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sheldon Jackson Murdock, a brother, William Shore, Jr., two sisters, Velma Parlier and Faye Byers, a grandson, Jacob Michael Southers, and a granddaughter, Amanda Murdock.

Doris was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her Lord, reading her Bible, attending Temple Baptist Church, and going to the Widows Meeting and Jolly Seniors activities at the church. She enjoyed traveling and having yard sales. Doris was very outgoing and loved being with people.

Those left to cherish her memory include four sons, Sheldon Brinner Murdock (Judy), Dennis Murdock (Nancy), Aaron Scott Murdock, Chad Murdock (Lisa), a daughter, Natalie Moose (Jerry), five grandchildren, Joshua Murdock, Jessica Cross (Greg), Cassie Osborne (Josh), Justin Murdock, Matthew Murdock, four great-grandchildren, Ashlen Osborne, Faith Osborne, Tate Cross, Chase Cross, and a sister, Thelma Russ.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
